Fuelling the EGG

100% Natural Lump Charcoal,

the secret ingredient for food cooked on an EGG.

What we Australians think is charcoal is in fact poor quality briquettes laced with chemicals and lighting agents. Lump charcoal is something different all together …

WHAT IS LUMP CHARCOAL?

Most Australians are familiar with charcoal briquettes that are made from compressed blocks of coal dust or charcoal saw dust. Briquettes contain chemical additives (that often smell and leave an unpleasant taste) to help them light and remain alight.

Lump charcoal on the other hand, is simply carbonised wood, a by-product of burning wood in the absence of oxygen. Lump charcoal lights faster, burns hotter and leaves no nasty flavours or odours compared to briquettes.
