Honey Soy Ribs

Ingredients

Pork Ribs racks – as many as you like

Honey Soy Mix / Marinade

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • lots of honey
  • garlic powder
  • ouch of sesame oil

Instructions

Fire up the Big Green Egg and let the temp get up to 120C / 250F, close your top vent about half way and keep your bottom vent open about 5mm, and let the temps settle between 120C-150C (250F-300F).

Once it settles, pop in some smoking wood, the ConvEGGtor, the grill and a rib rack, give it about 15 minutes and you will be ready to go!

While the temps are settling, trim up your favourite pork ribs, pull off the back membrane and rub them with kid friendly rub evenly across the whole rack, patting it down and letting the rub tack up before putting it into the EGG.

Make up your favourite Honey Soy Mix, we kept it simple with ½ cup soy sauce, a lot of honey, garlic powder, and a touch of sesame oil. Mix it over a low heat and adjust the flavours as needed and set a side.

Pop the ribs into the EGG using a rib rack and let the ribs get to around 70C / 160F, check them every 30 minutes and wrap them in a double layer of foil with some of the honey soy mix you just made.

Once the ribs start probing tender, glaze them with more of that honey soy mix and pop them back in the EGG for the sauce to set.

Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and let your kids at them!
